Spring Break 2019 Miami Day 2+3!

Again I was up early headed to the pool got chairs by 930.

Snagged a great spot with a view of the ocean.

Another day same as the first: all morning and early afternoon at the pool. Same food for lunch too.

Then the beach in the afternoon. It was chilly and windy so no swimming for us.

We decided to stay in our room and eat. Ally requested a waffle again, so Becky got her one from the cafe and sandwiches for us. Then Becky made a trip to Wallgreens next door for ice cream for dessert.

Day 3:
Becky headed out to the pool early today and Ally and I joined her later in the morning.

Another day, another mango daiquiri.

They serve chilled watermelon at the pool!

How very Tween of her.

But she ate the whole bowl except for 2 pieces she left for Becky.

Ally likes to post to Instagram so we’re always trying to get good pictures of her.

We had reservations at a restaurant I’d read about so we got dressed in non swim clothes and headed out. The hotel has Tesla car service available to use and we rode in one to dinner.

Ally hates take selfies with us right now but if you look close you can see her huge smile in the bottom right corner. She was thrilled she was not in the picture!
We went shopping for a while before dinner. Ally made out like a bandit with 2 pairs of shorts, 3 shirts, 2 tank tops, a dress and gorgeous romper. She has 2 more danced left this school year and I’m thrilled to have clothes for those and her gymnastics banquet.

Dinner was a southern food restaurant that specializes in fried chicken and biscuits.

Oh and deviled eggs.

Chicken and Waffles and Watermelon!

Dinner was a hit!

Then we took a walk to the Art Deco historic district of South Beach.

Stopping along the way for more instagram pictures. And just for the record Aunt Martha, Becky and I do not approve of Ally’s shirt. She bought it herself in NYC and she loves it. We don’t let her wear it to school, but I have to say she fit right in here in Miami.

Looking down the street the sun to my back.

And almost the same location looking the opposite direction facing the setting sun. Ally’s signature scorpion pose.

It was a very nice day. Tomorrow is our last full day here and then we leave Friday afternoon.
We are filling pretty mission accomplished on the rest and relaxation goal. And that is a very good thing.
