October 25-31, 2020

BIG WEEK. So many positive things for us.

On Sunday while Becky and Beth were hiking and then cooking at Beth’s house. Ally couldn’t decide between a cinnamon roll or a bagel for breakfast.

So she ate both!! And one and half peaches.

While she ate her big breakfast we talked about the week ahead. At one point Ally asked me “when can I go back to the gym?” I told her it was totally up to her. She could go back anytime she wanted and I would be happy to drive her to practice. She asked when the next practice was and I said Monday. And she said ok. I’ll go then.

Sunday afternoon she did also go to track.

Monday mom pictures.

In the car on the way home from practice. Ally eats dinner in the car on the way home. Her favorite dinner is from Panera; a kids turkey sandwich (on white bread with no cheese, it’s just turkey and bread), a strawberry banana smoothie and a chocolate chip cookie. She eats every bite.

Happy girl in the morning.

On Wednesday Becky and I had another IEP meeting with Ally’s school. We are happy that they agreed to expanded support services in and out of the classroom for academic and counseling support.

Thursday Becky went back into school to start teaching.

Masked up.

She texted me pictures of her classroom. She can’t move past the blue line.

Kids desks spaced 6’ apart.

Ally’s super long lashes

On Thursday in the pouring rain I went to many stores to look for pumpkins for a school event. My co-host and I went to 11 stores between us. 19 pumpkins in my car.

Friday morning it started snowing.

But school and lunch breaks still proceed.

Friday afternoon Ally had her first 1on 1 meetings with her special education teacher. He is nice but she doesn’t know him and asked me to be in the room while she has her class with him. It was interesting to be a casual observer.

So much snow for October. 5”

Our favorite local bakery had special meringue ghosts for Halloween.

Ally was cold and unhappy with the weather before practice.

After practice the whole team when to Stella’s house for a Halloween party.

They carved pumpkins in teams of 2. Ally’s partner was Mari and Ally has their pumpkin perched on Mari’s head.

And humored us moms for a group photo at the end.

Saturday I mad Ally’s favorite sugar cookies, decorated in Day of the Dead colors.

Cloey wore her pumpkin costume ball day.

Happy Halloween Ally!!!

You decide is Cloey a trick or a treat?

I organized a pumpkin carving contest for Ally’s class. Ally decided to go to practice (5th year in a row she chose gymnastics over social time) but helped us set up and said hello to a few friends.

Erik in the maroon shirt, Penelope and Ally.

The large group. A couple kids came and went but we had 22 kids out of 41 in the whole grade. We were really happy with that turn out.
2 kids told me it was their very first time ever carving a pumpkin and for 1 student he had never had instant hot chocolate. (We brought hot water in a big 5 gallon dispenser so people could make tea or cocoa). It was a chilly 45 degrees.

The winning pumpkins.

After practice Ally had a bee Ipsy to open. This is a highlight of the month for her.

A new sleep mask and lots of fun beauty products.

The day really tuckered Becky and Cloey out. They were asleep on the couch before 8pm.

Ally was happy to spend her evening watching TV on her iPad and connecting with friends via SnapChat.

It was a really good week.
