Surprise Project

This post is edited to show the "great reveal" to mama and the finished project:

Original post:

Ally is forever working on "a project" of some kind or another or "a surprise" for one or both of us. The other night she had a master plan to create a tall building with letters as a surprise for mama. It was also combined with playing school. First she set out a small piece of paper and a paint brush for 6 people in a circle. Then she carefully colored 4 pages and put a letter of the alphabet on them and taped them together one by one. (they are lettered A, B, C, D in order with A at the top). She was very proud of her ability to rip and cut the tape herself, a skill she has been working on for years! Cutting paper is easy, but not tape, and ripping tape has not been possible, but I think all of her gymnastic skills and strength are now aiding her crafting.

Ally banished Becky to another room and screamed NO MAMA every time Becky came close to the living room. (it was pretty funny to me).

Here she is putting the sky at the top of the building. Be sure to look closely at the bottom of the D page and you can see Ally drew in 2 doors to get into the building.

It was bedtime before Ally was finished so we stashed the project under the couch where it would be safely hidden until Ally has some more time to work on it. I suppose when I publish this page Becky will see it, but oh well.

I am constantly fascinated with the concentration and attention span that Ally has. She worked on this project for well over an hour, without assistance from us. She had a plan for it, and she executed it. And she will continue working on it again.
