Guatemala Day 4: news flash

Well we had some excitement last night. Our hotel was really hot and we were all very uncomfortable. It was not as safe as we would have liked: first floor room, with with a window that had no screens and lots of mosquitoes. Only a small portable fan that did nothing to cool or even move the area around. After dinner as we sat on our beds trying to wind down (it was 7pm). I decided we should see about a different hotel.
I texted outlr travel agent in the US and asked about another hotel, closer to the lake. She said go for it and suggested we walk over and see about a room. So Beth stayed with Ally and Becky and I walked over.
Becky's Spanish is holding up well as the desk clerk spoke no English. We negotiated a room, they took us to see it and once we saw the space and the corner balcony that looks out at the lake and 2 volcanos we texted Beth to pack up and we were moving.

We were all so happy.
Beth texted us this picture of Ally when she told her we were moving.

And the view we woke up to:

Pretty cool spot for Ally's bed with a view of volcanos:

And the view from Becky's bed:

Beth took a panoramic picture this morning. Click on the photo see it larger:
