Guatemala Day 5: kayaking, cliff jumping and more PART 1

Today we headed out on the lake to our guide from yesterday's home for a fun day on the lake. We geared up and kayaked about 20 minutes, then got out of the kayaks and jumped in to the lake from various heights. After jumping we had to kayak back to the house. Much harder kayak back in the wind and we were tired. But we made it. And it was fun. We changed into dry clothes had a delicious lunch (Ally even tried and liked roasted potatoes that Lee bought yesterday at the market.)

Now the rest of the group is hiking and going rock climbing and I decided to stay back lounging in a hammock in a palapa hut. Wonderful.

Waking up to the view of volcanos is amazing.

Becky, Ally and Beth all ready to go.

Ally was thrilled to get her own kayak.

Becky and I shared a tandem.

Ally did great!

Our Guatemalan girl kayaking in her native country. So much beauty and love.

Beth in her solo kayak.

Check me out below, jumping first into the lake!!!

Ally jumping above.

Then Becky in the next series:

That was just a warm up jump. I didn't jump anymore but took my camera back from the mom of the other family who was with us on the adventure (she didn't get out of her kayak at all).  It was time to climb up the cliff and jump from higher up.

Again in close ups of Ally:

She did it!!!
Then Beth:

Ally had fun!!! But didn't want to do it again. So we waited for Becky to go. Becky was really scared. But she did it too:

Becky then started puking in the water because she got so much water up her nose. But she did it!!!
Ally and I then swam over and waited in the sun while everyone else jumped a few more times. Becky enjoyed floating in the lake. Beth jumped again:

So much fun!

Part 2: climbing and hiking.
