Summer Vacation Week 11

August 29-September 5
Becky started back to work September 1. All from home for the foreseeable future. But that was our big excitement this week.

In honor of her 40th birthday September 6, Beth decided to learn to make croissants. They were delicious. She brought them over for me to bake while she and Becky went hiking.

Post hiking.

Ally got a delivery for stuff to have for her teammate Eliana’s Bat Mitzvah later in the week.

I gave Ally a mani pedi

Lots of Minecraft this week.

Even Cloey wanted to play

Ally modeled the rest of her new school clothes. Thank you Great Aunt Martha. Ally loves the shirt and sweatshirt. And no gray or black!

I made sugar cookies.

Sometimes Ally’s legs are so long I can hardly believe it.

Becky passed out in anticipation of her first day of school.

But was bright eyed and cheery in the morning for her first day!

Ally got a great report from her orthopedist.
She not needs to wear the boot and can just wear a brace for the next few weeks she starts PT on September 12.

Ally and I watched a movie together “The Day After Tomorrow”

The puzzle we completed last week was so well put together Ally could pick it up like a sheet of paper.

More Minecraft.

Ally has been asking to get her upper ear lobe pierced I’m not thrilled about it but it is her body.

Can you tell how happy she is?

Having Cloey and Daisy snuggle with her in the morning also makes her happy.

And in surprising news Ally volunteered to run an errand out of the house with me. To take Cloey to get her nails trimmed.

The weather got cool enough for me to wear jeans and a T-shirt!

We set up Becky’s remote teaching area in the living room. She has a new desk and chair and it’s better there than the 2nd floor hallway where she had been working.

Ally got her favorite dinner one night; chocolate chip pancakes with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream.

Saturday morning we watched Eliana’s Bat Mitzvah on Zoom. It was 2 1/2 hours!

Ally’s favorite part was when she got to throw candy at the TV to congratulate Eli on her speech.

The candy and custom T shirts and custom masks were in the goody bag Ally received earlier in the week. We headed out in the afternoon to celebrate in person with The whole gymnastics team, even old teammates were there.

It was a fun time. Not the huge party they had planned but an hour together at a park.

Ally was pretty tired Saturday night and was thrilled to have Cloey snuggle with her to go to sleep.

And for the record Ally’s upper lobe ear piercing above is a clip on! We researched and she can’t get that pierced until she is 16. Even with parental permission. So for now it’s a clip on. She’s thinking about getting a double piercing for her 14th birthday. We’ll see what she decides.
