Cat Salon

This sign has been up in our living room for a couple of months now. One morning Ally and her babysitter Lauren were playing.

But this past Sunday Becky decided it was time to finally tackle some cat grooming issues:

First up was a manicure for Carl. It requires a full body squeeze and hold in order to clip his nails.

Ally decided to be the receptionist. She found her "computer" its the piece of paper that looks like a laptop. She got her chair from her room, and pulled over the footstool. The area next to her was the waiting area. You see she wrote Carl's name on the sheet, that was because he was the first appointment. I think its obvious she spends enough time at the actual hair salon that she knows the set-up and procedure.

Thanks Aunt Martha for the book - Ally said it was perfect - just like at the actual people salon where you can look at pictures of other people. She had a book with cat pictures.

But it can get boring being the receptionist.

So she had to go tell the technician to be gentle.

And when you disturb the tenchnician, you might be asked to help.

And put to work.

When the real cats were done, Becky was ready for a shower, but Ally was not ready for the Salon to close. So she made Becky the receptionist and then Ally was the stylist for her play cats.

Kitty got a bath and then it was Manx Cat's turn.

But Ally had to stop several times to make sure mama was doing her job.

Finally all of the real and pretend cats were groomed, and the stuffed animals stayed with me while Ally got dressed for the day.

It was pretty neat pretend play.
