Birthday Party Prep

Back in August when we were at D.isney. Ally started talking about her birthday. She said she wanted a wind and rainbow theme party. Becky and I suggested different kinds of weather. Ally was psyched. I am now realizing 2 forms of weather would have been much simpler than 5; rain, sun, rainbow, wind and snow. We have decorations in the works, weather themed food planned and games to match as well.

Here are some of the party preparations:

Ally decided this year she wanted to send paper invitations. So she filled out each one and then drew a picture related to weather on the back of each one.

This year Ally asked for a piƱata! One night we stuffed it with a variety of fun items.

The craft for the party is “decorate your own umbrella” we bought child size umbrellas and an assortment of permanent markers and each girl will decorate one to bring home. Ally was thrilled to make the “model one”.

We’ve made 50 paper snowflakes, and even Nali was enjoying them. And 45 paper pinwheels (for the wind).

One of the games Ally selected is “pin the cloud on the rainbow” so below she is making her rainbow for the guests to pin the cloud on.

There is still a lot to do and we are very excited and grateful that Debbie, DAviD and Beth are coming. The rainbow arch made out of balloons has their name on it! And there are 45 small white balloons to blow up for the “snowball fight”. Tonight I suggested that Poppy Dave might be in charge of the snow cones. Ally said we’d have to show him how to make them, and he would have to stay in the snow area. We’ll see…
