It’s no secret that Ally loves the movie Frozen. She has now scene it 14 times! In addition to the movie, she is a little obsessed with a computer game called Free Fall, its based on the movie. She and I play it together on my iPad. By together, I mean sometimes we play with each other, or sometimes by ourselves, but we share the same player. This can be a bit frustrating, but its also fun.
She only gets about 10 minutes of screen time like this a day. One morning she played with Nali.
Ally’s school encourages moderate screen time on some math programs. A couple days a week we let Ally play those – one day she was set up at her table on the laptop.
Even with computers, Ally still loves to write. We were delighted to see the story she wrote above – on her own time, all by herself. The spelling is still atrocious. But we’ve been working on that, and lately have been a little worried that our concentration on spelling has taken some of her joy out of writing. Apparently not. She just reverts back to bad spelling when its something for pleasure and her own enjoyment. Can’t say that I don’t understand that.
When Ally got her bangs trimmed last, our stylist, Feri just couldn’t resist playing with Ally’s hair and did a very grown up “up-do” for Ally.
