Christmas 2024

It was a lovely Christmas Day.

Santa came!

Ally still likes to have matching pajamas with Cloey.



Daisy was not loving her leg warmers and sweater. But she does love Ally.



Ally had some specific requests for Christmas this year. Most were beauty-related gifts like this Shark hair dryer with curling and straightening attachments.

Beth made these garden mushrooms for Debbie in her ceramics class. They are gorgeous.

Great Aunt Martha and Uncle Phil got Ally some new sneakers she’s been wanting. 

Beth also made this quilt for Debbie. It’s from White Christmas.

The kittens are still with us and they came upstairs to play for a while.

So fun that my cousin Kimn could spend the day with us.

Pre-Christmas Fun

We did a 15 day advent for Ally this year. She got some pajamas, tank tops, hair stuff, school supplies. Just some fun things.

Dave and Debbie arrived on December 23. They got to see the kittens again. 

We did puzzles! One each day. This was the first.

Cloey was a fashion plate this year with multiple outfit changes. 

We decorated cookies. Ally and I ate some too

Night before Christmas!

December Decisions

What a month. A new semester started at school and Ally struggled a little to get her motivation and drive back after pushing so hard Fall term.

But gradually college acceptances came in:

Roger Williams University YES 

Endicott College YES

Fordham YES

University of Rhode Island YES

then after an agonizing few days Ally finally heard from her top choice

Syracuse University YES

Then before she could withdraw her application she heard from

Marist College YES

Wow. 6 acceptances!!! Ally went ahead and accepted Syracuse and emailed the other 5 and withdrew her application and contacted UConn and UMass Amherst to tell them she no longer wanted to be considered for admission. 

She did it. She was so happy and so relieved. 

So happy after opening that message!


She be joining the Orange community in August 2025.

Marist sent their decision in the postal mail!

Thanksgiving and the rest of November 2024

The rest of November was a blur. Becky had knee surgery on November 18th to repair her meniscus and Ally had her final week of classes for the semester. Then it was Thanksgiving and December!

Post surgery she went to Beth’s to recover in her single story condominium for a few days.

Our adorable kittens had fleas!!! This is me using the hair dryer to dry them off after Ally gave each one a bath.

They were so fluffy and cute after a bath.

Then it was Thanksgiving! And Grandma and Poppy came to stay for a few days and my cousin Kimn came up for the day.

We played games after dinner. So much fun and laughter.


We were trying to see who was taller. Kimn is by about an inch.
