On the 4th of July we traveled to Grandma Debbie and Poppy’s house. We flew to Philadelphia with Aunt Beth, rented a car and drove down to their house. After about 2 hours with them, we got back in the car and drove to cousin Jake’s house for a birthday party. Baby Aiden (Jake & Kim’s son) turned 1 year old.
After the party we drove back to Debbie and Poppy’s house, but stopped to watch the fireworks at Longwood Gardens. It was the coldest 4th of July I can remember ever.
Aunt Beth brought Becky her birthday gift – it’s a pi pie plate!
It was so cold, Beth, Becky and I went shopping for sweaters. Ally and Poppy were going to work on a dog house for the doll house in the basement. But they spotted the biggest spider ever and Ally refused to go back down there even after they captured it. Poppy Dave completed the dog house after we left and sent us the picture of it.
Aiden sitting on his mom Kim’s lap. He was too young for most of the games and activities, but Ally had fun with bubbles, gliders, turning cart wheels and Becky played “pin the stripe on the flag”. At the end of the party there were sparklers!
Ally took a break from tumbling by relaxing in a lounge chair.
Sparkler fun with Aunt Beth and Mommy
Ally loved throwing the glider. Posing for a picture with Uncle Tom and Aunt Pam.
Always the good sport, Becky played games.
It was so cold Grandma Debbie put the chair cover bags on her arms to keep warm! Ally and Beth snuggled under a blanket but were still “freezing”.
The fireworks were worth it. What a great way to end the day.
