Florida 2018 Part 1

This year we are in St. Petersburg Florida. We already had our airline tickets to Tampa and didn’t want to go to Siesta Key without Grandma Barbie so we reserved a week at a Beach resort here. Ally competes on Saturday at a gymnastics meet in Tampa.

Aunt Martha is here with us too.

We have a great suite, which has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room with a kitchenette and a view of the ocean! 

We headed to the beach our first afternoon here. Becky checked out the hammock.

Ally and Aunt Martha were so happy to be at the beach.

We even saw a pair of dolphins swimming about 25 yards off the beach. It was amazing. 

Of course gymnastics at the beach!

 Our room comes with 2 cabanas on the beach! Love the shade.

After a few hours on the beach we headed to the pool.

The water was extremely cold at this quiet pool so I suggested to Ally that she jump in.

She did it!!! 

Afterwards she dried off lounging in the sun playing on her phone. Ahhhh the tween life! 

After a break for lunch we headed back out to the beach, on a mission for a first time experience! Jet skiing for Becky and Ally!

After signing the liability waiver they got life jackets and a quick lesson on how it works.

Ally looks so excited and Becky so terrified!

And soon they were off. Ally gave me a thumbs up while Becky concentrated on driving.

While we waited for them to come back Aunt Martha tested out the freezing cold water.

Some bad words were said when a big wave got her pretty wet and almost toppled her over.

They were so far out!

And after 30 minutes they made their way back to shore. Waving at me.

Looking so sporty and confident.

They loved it!

Then it was dinner at another restaurant in our resort and some ice cream for Ally after dinner. The resort has its own ice cream shop.

Later that night Becky and Ally put back on their swimsuits and we headed to the pool for  "dive in movie"

An inflatable screen was put up at the pool and they showed the movie Mighty Ducks.

Ally thought the movie was boring so of course she did gymnastics in the pool.

But we stayed for the whole show and then went back to our room for bed. 

All in all a great 2 days of vacation so far.
