I've been waking up early, before everyone else and reading in the living room with the ocean view. This morning the swans were in the resort lagoon right below our room.
We headed out the mall for some new clothes for Ally. "Great Aunt Martha's treat". Thank you Aunt Martha! On the drive there Martha was so excited to see a van lettered The Princess Martha then as the van drove by we saw it was for an Active Senior Living complex!!! Needless to say Aunt Martha was quickly not so thrilled.
After trying on tons of clothes and coming away with a bunch of things we headed to the shoe store. Ally loved the high heeled sandals she is wearing and Aunt Martha was horrified to find a similar pair in her size. They tried them for a quick photo opportunity. Aunt Martha kept asking why someone would wear such high heels and saying they were uncomfortable. She didn't buy hers. But we did get the ones in Ally's size for Ally. Ally also got a pair of navy blue converse and a new pair of flip flops we found in the Ladies shoe clearance area. Ally was psyched to find shoes in her siz in the adult section. Her friends have been shopping there for years now.
I especially like that they have matching toe nail polish.
After shopping, I stayed in the room and read, the others went to the pool and eventually Ally and Becky headed to a beach cabana. Ally loves the shade at the beach.
Later that night we went back to the same restaurant as our first night. It was yummy and Becky and Aunt Martha have been enjoying frozen drinks daily.
Day 4:
Heading to the beach!!! And ocean front cabanas.
Becky and Ally threw a nerf football around.
The beach was gorgeous.
It was super hot. Ally needed to take off her cover up.
Ally and I went for a walk on the beach. While we waited for our lunch snacks to be delivered.
Yes, food delivered to your cabana!
Nothing like strawberry smoothies on a hot day.
But the heat started to get to Ally.
The rest of us headed to the ocean to cool off, but Ally was ready to head back to our rooms. We left her at the cabanas and braved the very cold Gulf water.
Eventually I went and got my phone to document how far out we went.
You can nearly see Martha and Becky.
Sine I was cool after my dip in the Gulf Ally and I headed back to the room.
After a bathroom break, some food and a shower, Ally was back to her happy self. We snuggled under the covers and read and talked for a while.
Eventually Becky and Ally and I left to do some shopping. Aunt Martha stayed behind.
We got some ice cream and took this family selfie.
Ally had practice that night, at a gym 45 minutes away. I drove her to practice and Becky and Martha walked over to a different resort for dinner and drinks.
I was so proud of Ally. She was pretty nervous about going to a strange gym with girls she didn't know. But she did it. I left for about an hour and when I came back she was fine of course. She is the only one competing at her level in the meet this weekend. All of the level 8 team girls are here in Florida and they were all at practice. But Ally doesn't know them and so was nervous to practice with them. She said it was nice and was glad she went.
Day 5:
Today we headed to a local tourist area called John's P.ass it's a cute shopping and dining area right on the water. I love this picture of Ally and Aunt Martha.
It was beautiful view and lots of pelicans.
We stopped in at a brew pub for drinks and a light snack. They had games to play. Ally schwooped me at air hockey 7-2.
After our break we went to the Alligator Attraction:
