Coronacation Week 7 April 26-May 2

Week 7 was tough. Started out with some serious struggle and lack of sleep. As the week progressed things got better and last night we had family movie night.

Pictures as always to document our time:

Guatemala Girls on Sunday. Moms were in one Zoom video call and the girls in another. That is Rosa, Ally and Roxie doing a Tik Tok together.

We got a table top ping pong set.

It was lots of fun. Especially because Cloey loved to chase the ball.

Olive and her parents, modeling some of Becky’s 90 masks. Yup the total is up to 90.

I went to pick up a produce box at a local market and saw this sign for gas. Becky could hardly believe gas was under $2.00/ gallon.

Our City, and eventually the whole state implemented a mandatory mask policy. It’s required in all public areas of our City and for the state it’s required when 6’ of social distancing is not possible.

So yes the mask factory was back up and running. Becky with a little help from me made more. And the total is at 91 complete.

Delicious lunch salad Becky made with ingredients from the produce box.

Ally’s friend Ellie came over for a short visits they failed to maintain social distancing on our back porch.

I curled Ally’s hair one day. This is from her phone because I forgot to take a picture.

One morning I documented Becky and Ally’s
School/work locations.

We’ve been spending so much time on the 3rd floor we got some new much more comfortable chairs for the table up there. Cloey is to Becky as Daisy is to Ally. No personal space and always with her. Even when Becky is trying to assemble the new chairs.

Ally and I colored this week instead of a puzzle.

Our pets at their most photogenic.
Cloey had a starring role in Becky’s “May the 4th be with you” math lesson.

As Yoda pug.

We showed Ally the video. You can see how her expression changed from bored “you’re making me watch a math video” to delight at seeing Cloey.

These pets and this girl.

Saturday morning I trimmed Becky’s hair.

We made rolls

To eat with pulled pork from Beth. Yummy!!

The latest batch of masks.
One is modeled below by our friend and realtor Sandrine:

Spaghetti and meatballs (and not pictured a chocolate cake) for dinner for the Church shelter. 14 people in residence there and 2 staff members to feed.

The family fun project for the day was making meringue cookies. These are Ally’s favorite cookies. This blog has featured her eating them in several countries.  We finally made our own.

Separating the eggs

Which can be messy and gross

Whipping the egg whites

Adding sugar while continuing to beat the whites.

Ally’s arm was getting tired.

So Becky did the last bit of beating.

There is a pastry bag in the glass that Ally is filling with batter.

And making the meringue dollops!

While waiting for the cookies to be done, Ally sat outside on our porch. Soon Daisy found her and cried at the door until Ally came to see her.

Finally the cookies were done.

Not sure at first

But Ally said they were good and gave them a thumbs up.

Later she was so happy she asked me to take this picture.

We ended our Saturday watching Oceans 11. Ally was so so happy that Daisy curled up with her to watch too.

Cloey was with Becky.

Such a nice way to end the week.
