Collin.s P.a.r.k

Just like on Mother's Day we had to go eat at J.umpin J.acks while we were visiting my parents. This time we also explored Collin.s Park. As you can tell Ally enjoys her time at any park - whether it is in NY or MA.

One other fun thing we did over the weekend was spend some time with the Grecos. I am very sorry I did not get out my camera, but the Greco Girls were so nice playing with Ally - sharing their toys and throwing the ball to her. A big memory for Becky and I was "Rock-a-rella". Ally was so enthralled with the music playing guitar and she is in awe of the "big girls". Thanks for a fun time.

We were waiting to every one to get ready to go and so Ally and I were outside in the front yard.

She picks her feet up so high when she walks in the grass.

Ally soon tired of the grass and asked to get in the car. She was pretty thrilled to sit on the actual seat and not in her car seat.

Can you tell she is not thrilled to wear a seat belt? This was fine with us, because then she did not protest when we were all ready to leave and it was time to get in her carseat.

I just couldn't decide which one to post - so you get 2.

Ally was pretty psyched with the new and different playground equipment.

Mama rode down the slide next to Ally.

But next time she was determined to do it herself.

Can you tell she had a great time?

Ally's First Play

Grandpa Frank wanted to see the outdoor performance of "You're a good man C.harl.ie B_rown". Mama and Mommy were not sure how I would be behave, but I keep telling them that I am not a baby anymore. We left at intermission, but Grandma Barbie said I was really good.
Here are 3 generations of my family. Grandma, me and Mommy.

Grandpa sat in a lawn chair and Great Aunt Martha stood thru the performance so there aren't any pictures of them. But here is proof that I was good - I just sat and watched the show, well to be honest I kept moving my seat; sometimes I sat next to grandma, sometimes on mommy's lap, sometime I stood up and sometimes I sat with mama. But I was very quite and only clapped when everyone else did. That dog S.noopy is pretty silly. I like cats much better.

Here is the performance.

My First Popsicle

I finally gave in to my mommy and tried a Popsicle. Mama says that one summer at camp mommy lived on Popsicles. In case you don't know I'm not a fan of trying new food, but mommy has been encouraging me to lick her Popsicles and today she offered me one of my own. Then she proceeded to take 60 pictures of me eating it. Thank goodness she did not post of all of them below. I have to admit that I was encouraging her, I kept asking her to take more pictures of me. She says she posted the best of the bunch.

Can you tell I like it?

This two hand thing is complicated. And my chest got all sticky.

Oops, at the end it fell off the stick and I asked for more and mommy gave me another one!

Oh and mommy said to say she'll have pictures from this weekend with Grandma Barb, Grandpa Frank and Aunt Martha up later this week. She was so excited that I ate a Popsicle she wanted to share that now.

Balloon Fun

Ally and I went to the mall recently. It was raining and we needed a break. Becky stayed home and took a much deserved break. Towards the end of our trip Ally got pretty fussy and so a very nice salesman at N.ordstrom gave her a balloon. Can you tell she liked it? She was so cute and happy I whipped out the camera in the parking garage and took these pictures of her. I know there are a lot of pictures- but I couldn't decide which ones were the best so here is a bunch of them.

Then when we got home Carl wanted to play with the balloon. Ally was very nice and shared it with him.

National Night Out

Last night, August 5, 2008 was 25th Annual National Night Out. For those of you who don't know what that is its a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) it is designed to: "Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. " There were events all over the country and in our fair city so we walked to one a few blocks away. There was lots of free food, big bouncy things for the kids (I said kids not petite toddlers), a petting zoo and several civic organizations set up booths with information. It was pretty neat.
Lately Ally has been wanting to be carried to the park. We're hoping its just because she has been sick and will go back to her usual walker self. So we took turns carrying her to the park and when we got there she demanded to get down and ran to see the balloons!
Then she ran down the hill back to us. I just love how she runs with her mouth open!

This is a shot of the whole scene.

At the petting zoo area there were turtles and goats and chickens and rabbits and a snake. I think the only creature Ally touched on her own was the snake!

Here mama is "helping"Ally pet the goat. [Forcing is more like it]

Ally was much more comfortable on the other side of the pen looking in at the animals.

We ended the evening out at the playground and Ally climbed up the stairs all by herself! It was great to see. Then she would slide down the slide and run around the equipment and climb up the stairs and slide again. Its the first time she "got" the idea of climb up and slide down, and really figured out that at the bottom of the slide you have to walk around to the other side to get back up. I was really happy to be there and see it. She was so proud of herself and would clap when she landed and then run around to the other side. Above she is climbing up and below is her getting ready to slide and then her landing. I wish I had captured the joy on her face - but sometimes I'm not so quick with the camera!
