On the actual day of Mother's Day we were leaving to drive home. There was a lot to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house; change batteries in the smoke and CO2 detectors, change light bulbs, go buy new batteries, bring things up from the basement etc. Nothing major, just small tasks. Ally was getting testy, she had a rash and was stressed about it.
My dad in an amazing moment of grandpa-ness asked Ally to come sit on his lap. She did and she sat on his lap on the porch for about 30 minutes while my mom and I ran an errand, Becky did chores and we got 100% ready to leave. It was amazing. She sat and listened to him. She looked at the birds and wildlife in the backyard - Ally even spotted a chipmunk!

Then we left and drove home.
It was such an amazingly beautiful day we headed out to the local park when we got home and got unpacked. The water was turned on in the fountains. That is Ally on the other side of the water.
The ice cream truck stopped by and Becky bought us all ice cream cones.
Ally's friend from school Willow was at the park as well and the two of them played together for an hour - it was so nice to watch and observe them having so much fun together.
When we got home Ally was excited for us to open our gift from her.
She made us a paper weight (with Aunt Beth's help) It says Happy Mother's Day Love Ally.
There was also a great card!
Thank you Aunt Beth.
