Easter morning we celebrated just the 3 of us at home. Ally opened her Easter basket and then had an egg hunt all for herself.
A new bunny – it is currently the new favored “special thing” Ally has not decided yet if it’s a boy or a girl bunny, but has officially named it Fluffy. Of course she still calls it Bunny.
Kermit Pez from Aunt Beth was a huge hit!
A new box of smelly markers. Becky is trying so hard not to laugh out loud as Ally smelled the package. Here I am smelling a new flavor!
Then it was time for the hunt. The Easter Bunny hid 25 eggs around the house for Ally to find. Some large jeweled eggs held parts of a Lego kit. Some eggs had money, some were filled with Peeps and others with Cheerios.
Becky got a Cadbury egg. Later in the morning Grandma and Poppy arrived – they brought Ally a stuffed animal robin with its own nest. (Debbie made the nest, we were quite impressed.)
After brunch, but before church, Grandma and Ally worked on pictures with the new markers.
After church, Mama made the one with the big bunny, while Ally completed her Easter masterpiece.

Pictures outside of church. It was a lovely service, Ally participated in the flower parade, where the children all carried potted flowers into the church during the first hymn, and then even volunteered during the children’s message. What is Joy to You? She said “flowers”. We were quite proud of her, and pleased that she is comfortable at our church that she is talking out loud and doing things without us at her side. Next month we’re going to officially join this church. It felt really good to combine the fun and the spiritual parts of Easter this year.
After church the grandparents left for the long drive home, and we got ready for our annual “Neighborhood Group Easter/Spring Potluck and Egg Hunt”
The gang of kids ready to search. Kai (and her mom Hanh). Aiden, Ally, Liem, River, Lila, Lily & Mia. We missed our friends in New Zealand, but River’s dad Thom did a great job taking over the egg hiding from Sean.
The hunt was on!
I loved how Ally came out in her Easter dress and rain/snow boots.

After all of our guests left, Ally humored me with a pictures of the two of us.
