Friday before Spring Break vacation Ally’s class performed a Columbian dance. They had been practicing for a few weeks, and have been learning about Latin America. Each kindergarten class focused on a country, Ally’s was Columbia, because the assistant teacher in her class is from Columbia.
I was so surprised when I got to school and saw Ally with glittery make-up on and her hair all pulled back with a big flower in it. She was thrilled. All of the families pitched in for the costumes (We all raided our closets) – big full skirts for the girls with white pants, and white pants and shirts with “sombreros” for the boys. It was great to see all of the students dressed and having a good time.
Ally’s group after their performance – taking a bow.
After the dance the class sang a song in Spanish for us – Paz Paz Paz. Ally just looked so serious and was paying attention to her teacher for the instructions – I had to snap a picture.
It was a neat performance and Ally was so proud of herself. I have a video of it – if you want to see it comment and I’ll send it to you.
