The party was yesterday and it was really fun. The decorations all came together to create 5 different types of weather.
I was standing in the rain, looking thru the drops, under the rays of sun, thru the rainbow arch past the wind and into the snowflakes.
Aunt Beth got really into the theme and sat in her poncho waiting for the guests to arrive. Grandma Debbie took part as well, using Ally’s sample umbrella for protection from the rain.
We had blue clouds (cotton candy) and the party popcorn for snacks. The tables were set for the girls.
A few family pictures before the guests arrived!
Alice and Ally working on their umbrellas, at one point 6 girls were gathered in the front hall coloring really neat designs on their umbrellas.
Stella made hers to look like a rainbow.
When they had enough crafting it was time for the first game. Snow ball fight! Poppy dumped out the balloons and it was daughters vs. moms – as we each tried to get all the snow (white balloons) onto the other side of the door way.
This was a hit! Super easy game and the girls were delighted. The static meant balloons stuck to everything.
At Stella’s mom Shannon’s suggestion we told the girls to make Ally into a snow man and see how many snow balls they could get to stick to her.
Can you tell Ally thought that was a blast?
After the snowball fight the girls played “pin the cloud on the rainbow”
Then it was time for lunch! 5 kinds of cereal and a selection of fruit (in a rainbow). Frosted Flakes and Rice Krispies were the preferred cereals, but the other 3 varieties available were Krunch, Gorilla Munch, and Frosted Mini Wheats. Poppy and Grandma ate in the living room and observed the girls. Grandma said it was fascinating to listen to them chit chat.
After lunch there was playtime in Ally’s room:
At one point they brought their umbrellas in and all the snow.
Stella on the top bunk and Roxie on the ground.
Gabi and Roxie – they had fun watching us put the candle on the cake.
Cake Time!!!
Ally blew them all out in one breath.
But they were trick candles! She blew and blew and blew – finally we had to grab them and snuff them in water.
After cake was gift opening – Ally sat on the couch and each friend sat next to her when she opened a gift from her. Rosa, Roxie.
Alice, Stella
Willow and Gabi
Then it was piñata time!
The rope broke before the piñata broke, so Becky ripped it open and they grabbed what they could. These are such nice girls they then shared what they had with everyone.
Back inside it was time for Snow Cones!!!! Poppy was in charge of snow cones – and that is him under the ukulele – crushing ice pops into snow cones. The girls loved them!
A group picture – Stella, Gabi, Ally, Rosa, Alice, Willow and Roxie.
We are so lucky to have these friends.
