The first few nights here were too cloudy but last night we were able to use it. Becky did great setting up, using an app on her phone to tell us what stars we were seeing. The Big Dipper was clear and bright right over the lake. The moon was big, not quite full but big and we saw the craters on the moon!
All bundled up against the chilly night and Mosquitos to go look at stars! Ally was super excited and hyped up. We started about 9pm which is almost 2 hours past her bedtime.
I wish I could say it was peaceful and relaxing but it wasn't. Cloey was out with us she was in crazy hyper puppy mode and Ally was dancing around full of energy as well. But after about 45 minutes we put away the the telescope and at Ally's request we all cuddled up on the blanket to look at the stars and see things. Kind of like cloud gazing when you see your own pictures. She saw a dinosaur and a cup and a tall person.
Then to close out the night I tried to take a picture of the 4 of us. After about 20 hilarious blinding flash attempts here are the best ones:
