This year Ally's Spanish teacher asked for parents to come in and talk about a country they were from in Spanish.
I don't speak Spanish - and Becky can't miss school to help with this.
One of Ally's classmate's mom is from Guatemala and I asked her to give a presentation on Guatemala, and I pledged to help. (One of my homeroom parent tasks was getting parents to volunteer for this)
She agreed.
We had a date - Jan 28. Then that was a snow day.
So our new date was today, February 4.
Ally and Clemens worked hard on posters about Guatemala and they each helped with the presentation.
I was in the back of the room making tostadas to share with the class after the lesson.
I was up at 5:30 AM making Guacamole for the tostadas.
First up was the Spanish Class presentation.
Clemens did a great job pointing out the volcanos on his poster.
Ally has animals from the rain forest to show, and the money and fruit grown in Guatemala.
At the end Ally and another student Xela who was also born in Guatemala held up the flag.
Eating her bean tostada
Clemens finished his.
Then we went to the English classroom and gave the whole presentation to that class.
It was a great time.
