But we are succeeding in our goal of rest and relaxation. Ally and Becky are getting about 11 hours of sleep each night and we spend our days between the pool and beach. Tonight was the first night we left the hotel for a meal.
I was up early the first day (and every day as usual) and snagged us chairs at the pool.
Storm clouds were blowing over but only a quick sputter of rain.
Meanwhile these two were enjoying some time on the balcony after being woken up by a test of the fire alarm system.
Soon they joined me at the pool.
After a few hours Ally and I went back to the room for a break. It was hot 85 degrees.
I snapped a picture of Ally doing music videos on her phone on the balcony.
We had lunch delivered to us at the pool. Chicken fingers and fries for Ally, empanadas and a delicious rice bowl for Becky and I, and a mango daiquiri for Becky.
Then it was down to the beach.
Obligatory handstand at the beach and portraits at the beach pictures.
Then it was time to swim in the Ocean. This was first time Ally’s really ever been in a warm ocean. We go to the beach but it’s always cold, even when we went to Hawaii it was February and really too cold to enjoy the water.
She loved it!
I’m posting this picture despite Ally’s sour look because right before this she clapped her hands in glee like a little kid she was so excited to see her waffle dinner with a side of fruit.
Becky was thrilled with her shrimp Cobb salad too.
My chicken and cauliflower rice bowl was not very thrilling or memorable so no photo of that.
After dinner we enjoyed time back in our hotel room. Becky hung out on the balcony and Ally in her bed.
We have a great room!
Pretty sunset to end our first day in South Beach.
