Becky and I decided in May to book a vacation to Disney World for just the 3 of us. It was our first ever “just the 3 of us” vacation. We went for a week and just got back 5 days before school started. We had a wonderful time. I’ll have more detailed posts at a later date when we get our photo cd but I wanted to put up a few pictures now.
We were a bit bummed that the Muppet 3-d movie was closed for renovations. But Ally picked out an adorable Kermit stuffed animal and then proceeded to take him with her all over the parks for the rest of the week.
Ally as usual was her picky eater self and so we decided to bring cereal with us and buy milk to pour on it when we it was meal time. It worked out really well.
We met lots of characters, including Buzz Lightyear! Before we left I painted Mickey Mouse ears on Ally and Becky’s toes.
Every afternoon we went back to our hotel. Ally watched TV while Becky and I read. It was great – we missed the daily rainstorms and had enough energy to go back to the parks in the evening.
Ally loved the Teacups – here we all 3 are on them.
Through research before hand I figured out how to get express seating at a new restaurant called Be Our Guest – its made to look like the Beast’s (from Beauty and the Beast) castle. It was pretty neat. That is a picture of Ally’s plate – turkey meatloaf (shaped like Mickey), pommes frites, peach applesauce and dipping sauce for the food. It was delicious! And yes Ally ate some.
Ally and Becky working on an Agent P challenge in Epcot and Ally with lots of characters.
We had breakfast with the Princesses one morning. Every restaurant thought it was my birthday so I had lots of cupcakes.
Ally, again on the Teacup ride. Ally asked to see Donald Duck because in her words “he’s so cute” we caught up with him in Mexico.
The view from our hotel room – it was really neat to see the pool.
On our last day we went to Animal Kingdom. We rode the rapids water ride and got absolutely soaked. We changed Ally in to dry clothes and went to see the Bugs Life 3-d Show – that is Ally and Becky in their “bug opera glasses” below.
A very nice cast member made Ally a crown out of Mickey Mouse stickers, but Ally did not want to wear it. So Becky wore it all evening at Magic Kingdom.
In 5 days we went on 65 rides!
