Italy Day 1: Uber, Plane, Train & Water Taxi

Well we made it!!! Yesterday was a very long travel day. We left our house in Cambridge at 7pm on July 3rd and arrived at our hotel in Venice Italy at 8:30pm. 8 hour plane flight from Boston to Rome, 3 hour layover in the Rome airport, 5 hour train ride from Rome to Venice!
We were tired but the beauty of Venice really made up for it. We were all smiling and relaxed on the boat to hotel.

In the Uber on the way to the airport.

At the airport in Boston.

OMG it’s an 8 hour flight.

Just about to land. Which means we made it they the flight!

We found a restaurant at the airport to hang out in for the 3 hour wait for the train.

And waited some more at the platform.

Waiting for the train.

On the train!

We made it to Venice!

Located a water taxi and enjoyed Venice from the boat:

We walked thru an alley so narrow Ally could touch the buildings on each side!

The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of Proseco and glass of orange juice for Ally along with some peanuts to snack on.

We freshened up in the room and then headed out to eat dinner. Beth found us a delicious place that was only 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Margarita pizza #1

We dined al fresco. In Venice.

And then ate gelato on the walk home to our hotel.
