Coronacation Week 13 June 7-13

The governor announced that Phase 2 could begin on June 8. Yay the gym!!! And other things opened up too but for us the most important thing was the gym.

Sunday Ally went to a protest for Black Lives Matter with her friend Colette and her family. She said wanted to go and would prefer that Becky and I stayed home. So we respect her wishes. We met up with the group at Ally’s school afterwards. Kids chalked the sidewalk with messages of racial support. Families were scheduled to go to school Monday-Wednesday to pick up students’ belongings.

That’s me and Willow’s dad Ariel. We have matching face masks.

Monday! Practice! The girls decided to wear matching leotards.

This was after practice. Ally was so happy to exercise and be with her teammates in person.

The gym posted pictures on Instagram.

Yes it was practice outdoors in the parking lot but still better than video practice at home.

Ally loves Daisy so much and the feeling is mutual.

Becky participated in a car parade to celebrate a coworker’s retirement and then went out for a drink with a different coworker. I asked for a selfie because restaurants are open, but only for outside dining so they ate cheese sticks and drank lemonade at picnic tables in the parking lot. But still first time eating at a restaurant in 13 weeks!

Our CSA started this week. That is our bounty.

Love I tell you

Gaming. Every day they are like this for some portion of the day or night.

Friday after practice we went to Shake Shack for dinner with Ally’s teammates. It was a beautiful evening and so nice to be with friends.

Saturday June 13 was our 13th Family Day.  Ally and Becky played games in the morning while I made a site visit for a client meeting. With COVID-19 meetings on Saturdays when none of the production crew is working seems to work well.

When I got home we celebrated. I told Ally we got this gift bag because she brought so much sparkle to our lives.

We planned on and made Ally’s favorite Guatemalan food for dinner.
Homemade tortillas, rice, black beans and guacamole.

While Becky and I cooked Ally sat and read. Yes. Voluntarily. I bought a bunch of books on Amazon for her for Summer reading and she looked at them, sorted them into books she wanted to read first and then started a graphic novel by George Takei about his time in a Japanese internment camp in California during WWII.

Dinner.

Then after dinner we took a family self portrait. It was my request and Ally agreed.

And here we are on June 14 2007. (The picture of the 3 of us from the 13th is from the airport...I like this one better!)

It’s been an amazing 13 years of parenting Ally. Every day I am thankful and grateful to be her mommy.
