Ally has mastered a new trick at the park; a flip over the bar.
Getting ready to jump up to have the bar at her waist
Bar at her waist
climbing over the bar to turn around
on to the balance beam part of the structure to then remount the bar facing the other way
getting ready to flip
smiling at mommy
in progress flip
all done!
She will do this over and over and over again. Now she even takes time to teach her friends how to do it too.
And I have to mention her outfit.
We went to Target recently and she asked to look at clothes. We found the dress on the clearance rack for a steal and then she wanted to see the shoes. The last few months Ally has enjoyed clothes and shoe shopping - the act of picking out clothes, trying them on, one day she tried on 15 pairs of shoes! For the most part she is happy just to shop and not buy. But I tend to have a weakness and buy things even if she does not ask.
This outfit is one of those purchases.
She was trying on shoes - and I spotted cute ones with flower print, she tried them on liked them, and then I realized that flowered shoes would be difficult to match with other clothes so I grabbed the blue/turquoise ones and she tried them on and LOVED them. We also decided it was time she learn how to tie a bow on shoes, so having these shoes would be a good way to do that.
She wore them non stop all weekend and kept telling me "I love my new shoes...they are so cozy...I like them much better than the flower ones...thank you mommy".
She's even worn them to school on non-rainy days. And not because they would get wet (though that is a concern) but on rainy days they do yoga in their classroom for recess and she has to take her shoes off, and she did not want to have to ask a teacher to help her tie her shoes!
