I am trying a new blogging platform - - if you read the blog regularly please comment or send me an email to l et me know what you think.
We started out the day bright and early – we went fishing. We had to be off t he golf course by 8am, or so we thought – but security came and made us leave at 7:45 am.
Ally is so funny – she sat on this towel and drank chocolate milk but refused to eat her cheerios because she had touched the worms and her hands were dirty. I gave her wipes to clean them, but she had so much fun with the worms. She made us come look at one pooping and above she is holing up a really large worm.
We did not catch any fish – but we saw some of the biggest fish I have ever seen – click on the picture of the water and you can see them swimming. It was such a bummer to watch them circle the worm but not bite.
After getting kicked off the fishing pond we went back to Aunt Suzie and Gruncle’s had breakfast and then headed out to our next adventure.
The Deer Farm
Be warned – if you are ever near Williams AZ we do not recommend the Deer Farm unless you want to get really up close and personal with a lot of deer.
It looked innocent – cute deer, adorable 5 year old, 2 moms with cups of deer feed.
But then we realized the deer were the same height as Ally.
It was like being mauled by deer. Ally was crushed, literally. So I picked her up.
Yes her hand is actually in the deer’s mouth. These were hungry deer.
And when our cup was finally empty Ally was happy to get down again.
So we walked around to see the other animals – it turns out it’s a bit of an exotic and not to exotic animal farm. There were reindeer, llamas, a camel, pigs, goats, miniature ponies, miniature cows, and a talking bird.
And LOTS OF DEER
Becky had her foot stepped on twice that is her mud encrusted foot.
One deer bit Ally’s shirt – and I took a picture of the bite marks / mouth print left behind.
When Becky took a turn holding Ally Ally dropped some food on her leg = Becky’s chest and the deer ate it right off of them. Look at Becky’s shirt and you can see she got really worked over by those hungry deer.
I love Becky and my faces – it was truly grin and bear it for us. But Ally had a blast. She loved it as long as we held her. We even re-filled our feed cup twice so we could experience it again and again.
After the Deer Farm we all went back to the house, changed clothes and checked in with Suzie and Gruncle. Becky and I went out to lunch and Ally stayed with Gruncle.
When we got back they were playing in the den with Ally’s “special things” Gruncle bought Ally a stuffed animal – a monkey named Coconut and Gruncle thought he should meet the others but Ernie kept running away and I’m not sure what happened after that…
Later that day Gruncle, Becky and Ally went for a walk up to the Caldera (its an area with a great big field near where they live) and saw a herd of elk. I guess on the way home the sun was too bright for Gruncle and he wore Ally’s sunglasses.
Here is Ally with Gruncle and Coconut. The first night she got him she slept holding him tightly – that is her asleep in bed. He seems to have usurped Kitty as a favored special thing.
Our last night Aunt Suzie was finally able to sit upright at the table and she and Ally and Gruncle played a rousing game of Spot It – one of our new favorite games.
Ally in deep concentration looking for a match.
Later that evening she curled up on the couch next to Gruncle to read a book before bed.
