Fabulous Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo on Saturday - it was a hot humid steamy sticky day but we met Rosa and her mom Julie there, and brought our extra stroller so the girls could ride as needed. When we arrived the peacock was happy to see us.

Ally wore a giraffe print dress that Becky made her - and I just had to get a picture of mama and daughter in front of the giraffes.

There is a new seasonal exhibit at the zoo on dinosaurs! Can you believe how excited Ally was? Rosa loved it too.

The girls got a little scared by the realistic dinosaurs and walked holding hands for a while.

A group shot - dinosaur included.

As usual the gorillas were the highlight. In this picture you can see 5 of them- including the baby one. The girls were fascinated and would stand or squat with their hands up against the glass for long stretches of time. When the baby would move to a different location the girls followed him. At one point he put his had up to the glass with Ally's:

After the gorillas it was time for lunch. There are some amazing improvements going on at the zoo - and the girls spent a long time climbing on a new playground structure at the picnic area.

After lunch, we peeked at the lion and tigers and then we were racing after the girls onto the carousel - I was the chosen mom to ride with them.

We spent a long time in the butterfly house. Both girls took lots of pictures and of course I got some of them as well.

 Ally and Rosa!

Mommy and Ally - can you tell how hot and sweaty we were? Here we were looking at the farm animals.

One last trip down the silo slide and we were on our way  home.
We all agreed it was a wonderful time with friends and animals at the zoo.

Afterwards Ally and I dropped Becky off at home and we went to the pool and swam for a while. Pretty much a perfect Saturday!
