Woke up so early we saw the sunrise on the way to the ferry.
Met Aunt Beth’s boyfriend Andrew
Saw a spider eat a meal worm at Andrew’s museum
Touched a snake and a snakeskin
Saw lots of other neat creatures and animal parts; whale baleen, butterfly specimens, turtles, frogs, whale bones
Went to the Cranberry Festival where we rode a hayride, saw cranberries being harvested, ate a lot of dried cranberries, played with a parachute, made giant bubbles, pet a goat and sheep.
Ate lunch outside on the patio at a restaurant at the airport, so we watched little planes take off and land.
Climbed a lighthouse and saw a beautiful view of the island
Went to the beach found a few shells but watched lots of seals play in the ocean
Took a break and ate some popcorn, watched a TV show on mommy’s phone while the grown ups chatted
Played on the playground
Ran a half mile road race for kids
Ate dinner and watched a movie at Aunt Beth’s house. (Ally had cereal and Land Before Time, the adults shared a take-out fried seafood and steamers feast.)
Went to sleep.
Here are the pictures to prove it:
Sunrise in the car
At the Maria Mitchell Museum with Andrew
Fun with Aunt Beth and mama – bubble making and hayride, then watching the harvesting process.
The lighthouse in the distance is the one we climbed later in the day. It was such a beautiful view and day.
Ally was such a good sport, walking, riding on our shoulders,
Switching sunglasses with Aunt Beth at lunch… silly girls.
Showing pooh the lighthouse we were going to climb – Pooh then stayed in my purse for safety while we climbed
It was really windy on top of the lighthouse.
It was 62 steps to the observation deck and then Ally climbed up to look at the light at the top.
Sankaty Head Lighthouse – it was pretty neat – especially because four years ago we went to visit it while it was closed and being moved. http://thelifeofally.blogspot.com/2008/09/visit-to-aunt-bess.html is the link
At the beach watching the seals
After a break all excited on the playground
After her road race – there will be a whole post on that.
All 4 of us ready for dinner – it was an amazing day.
