After a great long nights sleep we woke up to blustery Nantucket weather. Aunt Beth offered to put Ally’s hair in braids. Ally has decided she wants to let her hair grow long. She tried last year but the reality of pony tails and braids was too much for her to bear and back to short she went. But she is determined to try again and be successful this year. We’ll see. But her hair looked cute all day in braids, and it stayed out of her face in the wind which was great.
We went to the beach first – great beach combing for lots of shells.
Then we took a short hike up to a bluff with another great view of the ocean.
Ally literally ran the entire hike – above left you can see her in the middle of the path and then on the right she is at the top of the hill. She never left our site but would run as fast and as far as she could and still see us. Then she would wait until we caught up enough so she could run farther ahead.
The view was spectacular.
After the hike we went to Ally’s favorite playground on Nantucket. She was thrilled to be big enough to reach the bar herself and climb up on top of the monkey bars without any help from us.
The best daughter ever.
